About The 111th

Award-winning Photographers & Pilots

Julie Belanger is a pilot, and comes from a flying family. She has experience in marketing, and brings to her photography a good eye for a successful image! Julie has a passion for aerial photography, and her colleagues twice voted her into two-year terms as President of the Professional Aerial Photographers Association, International. As Executive Director of PAPA, she still contributes much to the success and growth of that organization.

Pat Belanger is an experienced pilot with over 13,000 hours accumulated from his time in the Air National Guard as an F-16 Fighter pilot, and as an airline pilot. Since his retirement, Pat has brought his expertise and steady hand to photo shoots, from both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters. Pat Belanger won the Best in Class Air-to-Air at the 2005 PAPA Print Competition.

The 111th Aircraft

The 111th owns its own airplane. Our beautiful Cessna 177 Cardinal is the perfect platform for flying and shooting aerial photography. The Cardinal is distinctive for having no wing struts which on other aircraft can be in the way of getting the best view. The 111th Cardinal also has retractable wheels to get the most open and clear view possible.

Fast, Dependable Service

And because it is our own airplane, we are ready fly at a moments notice. The Belangers have always prided themselves on very quick turnaround. Provided weather cooperates, the 111th usually flies 2-3 times a week to keep up with the demand for their photography.

Local Attention, Worldwide Service

While the 111th treasures its local roots in Northern California, in the San Francisco Bay Area, photography assignments are not limited to any geographic location. The Belangers often take aerial photo missions that take them to exotic areas... and some not so exotic.

On a recent assignment to Hawaii, the Belangers fell in love with the island, bought a home there and now call Honolulu their new business location and their home away from home. To visit Hawaii through the lenses of the 111th, go to www.the111th.com/hawaii

Often a local client just needs a shot outside our normal flying area. The Belangers are networked with aerial photographers around the world and can help facilitate an aerial photograph just about anywhere. And by working with the 111th, you will receive the kind of attention and service with your order guaranteed by the 111th, your local aerial photographer.
